Is Tyson Chicken Halal

Tyson Chicken Packaging - is it halal?

Tyson chicken is offered in many forms: pre-made chicken sticks, frozen chicken, and even fresh chicken. Purchased by many, understandable, the question of it being halal has been on our radar lately. We therefore decided to do our due diligence to find out whether their chicken is halal or not.

After reaching out to Tyson Chicken, they confirmed that their chicken is NOT halal.

We Contacted Tyson Chicken To Find Out If Their Chicken Is Halal

To come to a conclusion that we’re confident sharing on our site, we contacted the company ourselves to get a response from a trusted source. Here’s what we said:

Hello,
Hope your day is going well.

I just had a general regarding the chicken Tyson offers. Are Tyson chicken products sold in the US halal?

Thanks, much appreciated

Halal Guidance Team

They responded promptly and said:

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. It’s always important to us to hear from our consumers!

Any Halal certified products will be marked on the package label with a Halal symbol. However, at this time we do not have any of the products certified.

Thank you again for your inquiry and I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Tyson Chicken Consumer Relations Representative

What we can conclude from their response is that their chicken is not halal. When it comes to buying poultry, companies typically have a halal logo / certification if the animal was slaughtered in accordance to Islamic guidelines.

Given that Tyson chicken does not have a halal symbol on any of their products, their chicken is not halal. Unlike candy and snacks, meats you buy from the grocery store MUST have a logo to indicate whether it is halal or not.

Halal Chicken Alternatives To Tyson Chicken

Assuming you landed on this page to find out whether Tyson Chicken is halal or not, we have a hunch that you’re looking for a good alternative.

1- Zabiha Chicken

Zabiha Halal is commonly found in US grocery store. You can find it in any Walmart or Convenience store.

2- Boxed Halal

If you live in a rural area where halal chicken is not necessarily available, you may want to check out Boxed Halal. Boxed Halal is a meat subscription service that delivers halal meats right to your doorstep.

Final Thoughts

Generally speaking with packed meats, if it’s halal they will certainly indicate that by placing a logo clearly on the front or back of the package. There are many alternatives on the market to eating halal chicken and we’ve included 2 good options above.
